Happy spring everyone! This is the perfect time to grab your best loved books, find your favourite spot outdoors, and get lost in the stories. I am obsessed with children’s books and so I thought it would be a good idea to share some of our favourite books to read in April. I hope these give your family some great book ideas!
Our Favourite Chapter Book
Are We There Yet by Enid Blyton
This book is truly getting us excited for the summer. A bumper pack of six stories about fun family summer adventure holidays. We can’t seem to put this book down! We are almost finished (although we don’t want it to end) and we are all loving it. The boys favourite adventures so far are the ‘The Caravan Family’ and ‘The Pole Star Family’. It even had us looking at caravans online…aah one day!
Our Favourite Picture Book
The Extraordinary Gardener by Sam Boughton
A story about nature, community, imagination, and creativity (a favourite combination of ours). I love sharing stories with children about making dreams come true and this has a special place on our book shelf!
Our Favourite Non-Fiction Book
The Big Book of Bloom by Yuval Zommer
Just perfect for Spring! This book is simply boosting with beautiful and vibrant illustrations, as well as a wealth of information. Great questions are answered with fascinating facts. We are all so drawn to this book and it is great to spark discussion and curiosity.
I hope our favourite books to read in April recommendations have given you some great book ideas. Please do share any book recommendations with us too. We would love to hear from you!
The Extraordinary Gardener by Sam Boughton and The Big Book of Bloom by Yuval Zommer are recommended alongside our Spring Cross-Curricular Creative Bundle!
