Draw or paint sunflowers of all different sizes and use a ruler to measure them accurately in centimetres. This is good practice to be able to use, read and write standard units. You might like to adapt the activity to support your child’s development in a certain area of mathematics.

* round each measurement to the nearest whole number
* gain confidence with decimals.
